A number with context
Reaction time is the interval between a signal appearing and your response. It is influenced by attention, anticipation, fatigue, the display, the input device, and the way a test is designed.
There is no single score that defines a person. A useful benchmark is one that you can repeat under similar conditions and compare with your own previous attempts.
How to get a more useful reading
Use the same browser and input device, remove distractions, and take several attempts instead of trusting one unusually fast or slow round. Our Reaction Time Test uses five rounds so you can see a small personal sample rather than a single click.
HumanSpec tests are for education and entertainment. They are not medical or psychological diagnoses.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good reaction time?
A good result depends on the task, device, display, input method, and practice. Use repeated sessions to establish your own range instead of treating one number as universal.
Can I compare my score with another website?
Only cautiously. Different timing methods, displays, input devices, and scoring rules can produce different results.
