HumanSpec FAQ

Getting started with HumanSpec

What HumanSpec measures, how to begin, and what you need for a useful session.

What is HumanSpec?

HumanSpec is a free browser-based test lab for reaction time, memory, typing, and other everyday performance signals. It is designed for quick practice and self-comparison, not for diagnosis.

Do I need an account?

No. You can run the public tests without signing up. Results are shown in the browser, so save a note or screenshot if you want to keep a personal record.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Use a modern browser with JavaScript enabled. A keyboard, mouse, or touch screen may be needed depending on the test.

How long does a session take?

Most tests take less than five minutes. Take a few warm-up attempts, then compare a small group of consistent trials instead of relying on one outlier.

Can I use HumanSpec on a phone?

Some tests work on touch devices, while keyboard and mouse tests are more meaningful on a desktop or laptop. The input method is part of the result context.
